Give Financially

At St. Thomas Church, we want to worship God with the whole of who we are – we meet for worship every Sunday, but we believe that worship should be Monday to Saturday as well, incorporating the all of life. Therefore, giving financially is also worship and is an important part of being a follower of Jesus. Find out more here about how to give to life and work of St. Thomas’ Church!

St. Thomas’ Church is blessed with some very generous people, but we believe that giving is an honour and something that all Christians are called to do. While it is important to stress that no-one is expected to pay to come to church, and all giving is completely voluntary, as a church, we want as many people as possible to experience God’s incredible love for themselves, both here in Aldridge and across the world! When we give, as we are able, we sow into that work, and share in its rewards.

You can give in a number of ways…

1. By Standing Order

This is the easiest way to give regularly to the work of St. Thomas Church. The money is paid directly into St. Thomas’ Church’s bank account, which guarantees a regular source of income for us as a church and makes it easier to meet our financial commitments and to plan our overall budget.

It’s also easier for you as you know what’s happening with your money! Additionally you’re a tax payer, please complete a Gift Aid declaration which enables St. Thomas’ to receive an additional 25p for every £1 you give.

To give by standing order, please contact the church office, and request a Standing Order form.

2. Weekly in Church

You can also give by cash or cheque on a weekly basis, either anonymously, by placing money in the collection basket during the service, or if you would like to give by Gift Aid, then please use the envelopes provided. Cheques are payable to St. Thomas Church, Aldridge. An offering will usually be taken during the last song of each morning service, so just pop your completed envelope in the basket as it goes by. For more info about giving with our envelopes, including details on how to make sure St. Thomas’ can reclaim your tax via gift aid, please contact the church office.

3. As a One-Off Gift

If you’d like to make a one-off gift to St. Thomas Church, you can do this via cash or a cheque (payable to Aldridge Parish Church) and put it into the offering baskets on a Sunday, or you can do it via a direct bank transfer. Giving can be directed to a particular purpose, or can be left undirected, to be used as the church council deems appropriate.

Contact our treasurer, via the office, to find out more about this.

Gift Aid

If you’ve paid tax on the money that you give, it’s really essential that you sign a Gift Aid declaration form and hand it in to the church office. This massively increases our total giving – at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid enables us to claim back 25p for every £1 given, so if you pay tax, please do fill in a form.

You can collect a Gift Aid declaration form in church, or request one via the office. Please fill it in and pass it to our church office. Do contact our treasurer or Finance Coordinator, via the office, for more information.
