The Hothouse happens thanks to an amazing army of volunteers. In addition to this we have a small staff who are often the first people to contact
Pioneer Minister
Jen Middleton
Jen is the Pioneer Minister at the Hothouse. She came to Aldridge in January 2016 to lead the Hothouse and Tynings Lane Church from her native North East! As well as being passionate about helping people discover the God who loves them she is also keen to ensure the Midlands discovers the joy of pease pudding! Jen loves to watch F1, cook for people and spend time listening to their stories. Jen has particular responsibilities to ensure the day to day management of the Hothouse and it’s growing ministry to the Redhouse estate.
Children's Worker
Rachel Ruane
Rachel is the Children’s Worker at the Hothouse, but also work as an LSA in a local school. She lives in Aldridge with her husband Patrick and their dog Boo - who is named after the girl in Monsters Inc as she loves all things Disney and so names all her pets with Disney names! Rachel loves making cards and trying out different crafts as well as having a mild obsession with makeup and fashion which usually ends up with her spending many hours browsing on ASOS or dragging Patrick to Birmingham at the weekend. She loves working at the Hothouse and spending her evenings with all of the children and families who come through the doors!
Student
John Summers
John has just started a degree with Moorlands College in Applied Theology and is spending his placement at the Hothouse – although he’s been volunteering at the Hothouse for much longer. He has a love of all things nerdy whether it be Star Wars, Marvel or playing board games.
Community Worker
Amie Iddon
I am delighted to be a part of Aldridge Parish in the capacity of the Hothouse Community Worker. I am so passionate about Community Work and reaching out to show God's love to people in creative and practical ways. It is very exciting to have the privilege of being involved in Gods work here on the Red House estate. I have lived in the West Midlands for most of my life, born and bred in Wolverhampton before moving to various churches in the Lichfield Diocese with my husband who serves as a local vicar in Tamworth.
